LOCATION. UW-Platteville has a scenic, 820 acre campus located in beautiful southwest Wisconsin. Located just 20 minutes from the mighty Mississippi, 30 minutes from historic Galena, Illinois, 50 minutes from Madison, Wisconsin's capital, and within a few short hours of Milwaukee, Chicago, and Minneapolis, UWP offers a multitude of options for students and visitors. One can hike the scenic bluffs, including climbing to the top of the world's largest "M", bike the many trails, fish and hunt, shop, camp and just enjoy the countryside.
THE UNIVERSITY. Founded in 1866, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville has been known as the "friendly college". Small classes are taught by professors (not graduate students!). We serve over 7000 students through our academic programs in agriculture, biology, business & accounting, criminal justice, education, engineering, industrial technology management, liberal arts, mathematics and the sciences. There are more then 170 clubs and organizations
