Campus Profile

Oklahoma State University in known for its friendly campus atmosphere, its harmonious architecture, and attractive landscaping. Stillwater, home to OSU, is a classic college town that boasts one of the major homecoming events in the nation. As a land grant institution, its College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources is is one of the largest on campus. Native American culture abounds in Oklahoma, home to over 35 tribes. OSU graduates the highest percentage of Native American students in the US. Its Entrepreneurship program is nationally recognized. OSU boasts an active Scholar Development Office and was designated a Truman Honor Institution in 2000 because of the number of Truman scholarships awarded. All student administrative services are consolidated in the newly remodeled Student Union,that also houses a hotel and restaurant. The university has a long tradition of international development and service as well as welcoming international students for study and research.

Campus Location - OSU is located in Stillwater within a mile or two of the downtown area. Stillwater is equidistant from Oklahoma City to the south on Highway 35 and to Tulsa to the east on Highway 44.

Helpful Information - It's useful to have a car in Stillwater, although limited bus service is available. A lot of the social and cultural activities occur on campus, as Stillwater is a small town. Enrolling in classes is sometimes tedious, as classes may be closed or restricted by pre-requisites that have to be demonstrated. The Study Abroad/NSE Office helps in these exceptional cases. Finally, the Homecoming event in October with a Walkaround and parade is a major event, not top be missed. Cowboys bleed orange!

Plan A
For Plan A U.S. students, aid is awarded by and disbursed from your host campus. Students apply for federally funded financial aid by using the FAFSA code of their host campus. Host campuses award aid to incoming Plan A students on a first-come, first-served basis as long as funds are available. Ask your home campus NSE coordinator if your campus awards aid to their own outgoing students. If so, do not apply for aid from your host campus.
