| ABOUT THE PROGRAM: | The Honors in General Education Program at CSU, Chico offers a wealth of special opportunities for motivated undergraduate students with high grade point averages. For this program, you complete a portion of your general education requirements by enrolling in special honors sections of general education classes. Every semester the program offers approximately 15 different honors classes from a wide range of departments across the university. Every class fulfills a general education requirement for graduation. You choose which ones you want to take. The honors sections are small (no more than 25-27 students), innovative, and interactive. They are taught by some of the best professors on campus and provide a good environment for learning, as well as an opportunity to work closely with honors faculty and other honors students. As a participant in the Honors Program, you receive priority registration. If you enter CSU, Chico a a first semester freshman, you are required to have a high school GPA of at least 3.5 or an SAT score of at least 1200 or an ACT score of at least 27. If you enter CSU, Chico with a second-semester freshman standing or higher (15 units or more), you are required to have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3. |
