HONORS INFORMATION FOR:
University of Massachusetts at Amherst
| HONORS CONTACT: | Cory Pols Assistant Director 504 Goodell Building Umass Amherst, MA 01003 PHONE: 413-545-2483 FAX: 413-545-4469 E-MAIL: cory@honors.umass.edu Enrollment in the home campus is required. A GPA of 3.5 is also required. |
| ABOUT THE PROGRAM: | The university has an Honors College called Commonwealth Honors College. Students must meet their home school honors program or honors college and have at least a 3.5 GPA. Students may have to contact the above listed Honors Coordinator to register for classes. In order to gain access to registration, incoming students must provide verification they are participating in their home school honors program/college. Only after the NSE Office at UMass Amherst receives this information can the student be coded for Honors designation and the accompanying courses. |
| AVAILABLE HONORS COURSES: | The Honors College offers its own group of interdisciplinary Honors courses. Individual departments also have courses that are designated for Honors credit with an "H" after the course number. In some instances Honors colloquia (usually a one-credit seminar that is held in conjunction with the course) also fulfill Honors credit. All of the courses offered by the Honors College may be found online under one of the three criteria: - listed under the department "Honors" - designated with an "H" following the course number - added as a colloquium to an existing non-honors course. (For example, Art History H01 is an Honors Colloquium.) See http://webapp.comcol.umass.edu/courseguide/ for courses offered. |
