About The Program: The Undergraduate Research Academy encourages students to expand their education beyond the classroom through participation in research and creative projects mentored by UCCS faculty. The Academy objective is to support collaborative efforts between the student and faculty member, where both members benefit from the experience. Academy students act as research assistants on meaningful projects identified by their faculty mentor. Through this yearlong opportunity, the student gains valuable experience, while being paid, and the faculty member's research program goals are furthered. In addition to their research, students take part in a monthly seminar and professional development opportunities.

Program Requirements: Full-time status - enrolled in a minimum of 12 CH Juniors and seniors - apply during sophomore or junior year An overall grade point average of 3.5 or greater Project and faculty mentor identified

Program Costs: Student Expectations: Attendance and participation in the ID1020 research seminar during spring term and URA workshops during fall term. Poster presentation at CSURF or Mountain Lion Research. Project duration is June - May for spring applicants. November - May for fall applicants (exceptions can be made). Faculty Expectations: Research mentoring - Help student achieve clearly defined expectations. Weekly or biweekly meetings. Attend the research seminars. Help mentee.
