About This Campus

ECU is the home to 28,000 raging "Pirates". Purple and gold is a prominent color that is displayed with pride on campus and in the Greenville community. ECU originally was founded as a teacher training college that blossomed into a national research university. This University offers 100 undergraduate degree programs across eleven colleges that reflect the diverse interests of the student body, plus the support students need to be successful. It is one of 17 public universities that make up the University of North Carolina system of schools, and a residential high school for exceptional students. There is truly something at ECU for everyone. Need a break from studies and research, not a problem. ECU has 300 organizations, intramural sports, the creative arts, and of course the beach and the famous Outer Banks, rated as one of the top beaches in the U.S.

All meal options have unlimited access to both dining halls. The cost difference between the plans is associated with the number of Pirate Meals and Purple Bucks purchased. Pirate Meals are used at our retail locations on campus (Chick-Fil-A, Starbucks, etc.) Each location has a few meal options that can be purchased with the Pirate Meals (ex.. sandwich, fries and a drink). Students that wish to buy single items in the retail locations would use the Purple Bucks. Purple Bucks are similar to a personal debit card.
